Multi-Air Defense Simulation System (MADSS)
The Multi Air Defense Simulator System (MADSS) provides the user with a unique training tool to engage aircraft with laser designation, missile plume launch effects, and a visual missile launch signature which ascends toward the aircraft. The MADSS can be used either on or off post to provide enhanced home station training for Air Defense Screens, Air Defense Umbrellas or MANPAD scenarios in Military Operations Urban Terrain / Reconnaissance Team (MOUT/RT) environments. A typical engagement consists of lasing the approaching aircraft to produce a cockpit generated, LASER...LASER warning to the pilot. The MADSS operator will then trigger the firing of the Omega GF1.5 Stinger cartridge and ground plume launch replication. The pilot will then receive a cockpit generated, LAUNCH....LAUNCH warning. The pilot will also see a missile plume signature climbing up toward the aircraft. The Omega GF1.5 Stinger missile signature creates no adverse conditions relative to the aircraft's safe operation.
