Stinger - Medium
The Medium Stinger provides aviators and ground forces with a visual missile launch signature which ascends to an altitude of approximately 400 feet. The visual effect consists of a single bright plume ascending while producing a 1.5 foot diameter white smoke trail. The pilot sees a missile plume signature climbing up toward his aircraft. The stinger is fired using an electric match and is typically mounted on the ground. While the medium stinger is not actually fired from the Multi Air Defense Simulator System (MADSS), it can be used in conjunction with the MADSS sold by Titan. These systems provide enhanced home station training for Air Defense Screens, Air Defense Umbrellas, compliment MANPAD and various scenarios in Military Operations Urban Terrain / Reconnaissance Team (MOUT/RT) environments. The Medium Stinger signature creates no adverse conditions relative to the aircraft's safe operation.
