Stinger - Large
The Large Stinger provides aviators and ground forces with a visual missile launch signature which ascends to an altitude of approximately 800 feet. The visual effect consists of a single bright plume ascending while producing a white smoke trail. The pilot sees a missile plume signature climbing up toward his aircraft. The large stinger is initiated by a low voltage electrical firing device. These systems provide enhanced hhome station training for the Air Defense Screens, Air Defense Umbrellas, and compliment MANPAD and various scenarios in MOUT/RT enviroments. The large stinger signature creates no adverse conditions relative to the aircraft's safe operation when operated per instructions.
